Time to say goodbye
The MD-DR77 features a Mobile 1-Bit digital amplifier that is built upon the foundation of 1-Bit digital information, seeking the utmost precision in the time domain to achieve a sound quality that closely resembles the original audio. This innovative concept aims to reduce quantum noise and enhance dynamics. Additionally, it inherits the Hi-Fi audio concept of Full Bridge, further minimizing voltage and noise distortion through independent + / - polarized outputs. The ultimate output is delivered through a revolutionary LR independent "4-pole headphone jack" creating exceptional positioning and a pure audio quality.
The device incorporates a power-efficient single-package LSI, offering a maximum Play 135 hours / REC 57 hours(LP4) when buth with batteries.
Regrettably, despite achieving remarkable sound quality, the Pure Recorder's product positioning does not support Net MD (while also maintaining an affordable price point). Users are able to adjust treble 0 ~ +3 / bass -2 to +2, with a thoughtful playback speed adjustment -30% ~ +15% in 6 stages. the selling point of the surround effect commonly seen in MD players is missing.
The new backlight touch controls exhibit subtle overall changes, with a dignified and rectangular form factor, and the buttons positioned on the sides, resulting in a cleaner visual and tactile experience.
While the device boasts versatile and powerful internals, it lacks the captivating aesthetics of an idolized appearance. The LCD screen within a frame-within-a-frame design adds a sense of bulkiness to the visual aspect, and the layout of the main function buttons appears rather ordinary and lacking in sophistication. Fortunately, the device manages to redeem its visual shortcomings with finely detailed, lustrous hairline finishing, adding a touch of high-quality craftsmanship to its exterior.
After years of working hard to explore the possibilities of Recorder and carve out a niche for itself, Sharp finally brought the development of Recorder to a close with the DR77.
