新型新色新氣象　最小錄音機

Sharp新聞稿指出，'97年MD全系列產品需求比起去年+474萬台，其中隨身聽占比多達約50% 237萬台的推估。本次系列產品除了小型輕量化，在操作性與設計更上一層，徹底發揮MD獨有的攜便性魅力。

本次主要以急增的青少年族群需求，造型由過往的洗練簡約轉向流行動感的設計語言，配色也更為鮮明活潑，在外出時享受流行數位高音質。

大圓形的銀色鏡面映襯著虹彩反射，光碟意象般動感的新穎設計向廣泛的用戶族群們的設計訴求。

不僅外在一氣更新，內裡也更為大步邁進：

• 機構的小型・薄型設計(比起過往機型-22%的薄型記錄用光磁頭
• 新研發的高度7mm的超薄型光學頭(相較過往-32%)
• 新型研發的單晶片LSI / IC
• 由圓筒狀變更為新型方形鋰電池

由裡至外徹底翻新，讓MS701在擁有直覺滑順的Slot In入退 / 碟亮點的同時，還更進一步由以往碩大的長形變身為口袋尺寸的小巧機身。

隨著機身一起革新的新型液晶線控，搭載Recorder初　背光照明，無論外出或暗處等各場合都點出炫目美麗的科技意象。

貼心功能"Synchro REC"，錄音時偵測3秒以上音訊的有無而連動錄音的啟動 / 暫停，讓錄音編輯更為輕鬆簡便。Mono限定的2x 快速撥放可針對如漫長的會議錄音效率地確認內容。Time Auto Mark則可針對3 / 5 / 10min作定時標記。

Sampling・Rate Converter(取樣轉換)，對應如BS衛星節目、DAT等不同頻率的數位格式錄音，此外官方推出AD-A12音效卡(¥25,000)，與光纖線結合即可由PC錄製數位音樂。

音訊的壓縮 / 解碼採用了第5世代的ATRAC 24Bit，獲得清晰、具延伸感並提升微信號的再現性，享受錄 / 放寬廣動態的高音質~

充電池頗遺憾地大減至REC 3.5 / Play 5小時續航，不過外接電池盒成為標準配備不再需額外加購。

By Sharp's press release in '97, the demand for their entire MD product line increased by 4.74 million units compared to the previous year, with portable estimated to account for about 50%, totaling 2.37 million units. This series of products not only became smaller and lighter, but also enhanced operability and design, fully embracing the unique portability charm of MD.

The focus was primarily on the rapidly growing demand among teenagers, shifting from previous refined simplicity to a trendy and dynamic design language. The color schemes are more vibrant and lively, perfect for enjoying popular digital high-quality sound on the go.

A large circular silver mirror surface with iridescent reflections embodies a dynamic and novel design that appeals to a wide range of users.

Not only has the exterior been completely refreshed, but internal advancements are also notable：

• A spindle motor 25% thinner than before
• An optical head 6% thinner than before
• Newly developed 1 chip LSI / IC
• Change from cylindrical to square lithium-ion battery
• A 55% reduction in board area compared to the MD-SS70

Thorough internal and external renovation　allowing the MS701 to feature intuitive Slot In disc loading/unloading and standout disc visibility, while transforming from the previous large rectangular shape to a pocket-sized compact body.

Accompanying the body's innovation is a new LCD remote control, equipped with Recorder's first backlight illumination, highlighting its dazzling technological image in various settings, whether outdoors or in low light conditions.

The thoughtful "Synchro REC" function detects audio signals of 3 seconds or longer to automatically start/stop recording, making recording and editing easier. The Mono-only 2x quick playback is efficient for reviewing content such as long meetings. Time Auto Mark allows for timed markers at 3,5,10 min intervals.

The Sampling Rate Converter supports recording in different digital formats with varying frequencies, such as BS satellite programs and DAT. Additionally, Sharp introduced the AD-A12 sound card (¥25,000), which, when combined with optical fiber, allows digital music recording from a PC.

Audio compression/decoding uses the 5th generation ATRAC 24Bit, providing clear, detailed sound with enhanced fidelity and dynamic range for REC/play.

The battery life has been reduced to REC 3.5hrs / play 5 hrs, but an external battery pack is now included.
