機能性能的兩立

作為'97年上位機型DMC-G5，有著與Sony旗艦MZ-E50一較高下的13.8mm的超纖薄霸氣機身。

髮絲刷紋的鋁金屬機面搭上獨家的Kenwood Logo設計要素的既大膽又巧妙的一體式形色語言，不過上方的裝飾Icon卻顯得畫蛇添足的敗筆存在。

相對於主機的素雅樸實，潛水錶意象的液晶線控帶出了動感十足的潮流特色，百搭的Tough調性而正面採用極罕見的鋁金屬讓設計與質感更上一層，並採用只是幾乎已經標配的背光照明遺憾地從缺。

支援4向供電(充電池、家用DC、外接電池盒、車用電源)，充電池僅有差強人意的5小時續航，併用時雖長達20小時卻以犧牲攜便性的AA x4才得以達成，且對MD來說不可或缺的外接電池盒(BC-G5 ¥2,300)卻為選購品的策略實在讓人費解~

貼心地配置了充電座。僅需將機身安置於充電座上即可充電，省卻了過往頻繁插拔或取出電池充電的困擾。

不過防震記憶卻只有短短的10秒鐘...

Functionality and Performance

As the '97 high-end model, the DMC-G5 boasts an ultra-slim and imposing 13.8mm body, comparable to Sony's flagship MZ-E50.

The brushed aluminum surface with the distinctive Kenwood logo creates a bold yet sophisticated integrated design language. However, the decorative icon on the top appears to be an unnecessary addition.

In contrast to the main unit's simple elegance, the LCD remote control, inspired by a diving watch, brings out a dynamic and trendy feature. The front, made of rare aluminum, enhances the design and texture, although it regrettably lacks the almost standard backlight illumination.

The device supports 4 power sources (rechargeable battery, DC power, external battery, car power). The rechargeable battery offers 5hrs power, which can be extended to 20hrs with the external AA x4, sacrificing portability. Curiously, the essential external battery pack for MD (BC-G5, ¥2,300) is an optional accessory, a strategy that remains puzzling.

The device thoughtfully includes a charging dock. Simply placing the unit on the dock charges it, eliminating the frequent plugging and unplugging or battery removal required for charging in the past.

However, the anti-shock memory is disappointingly short at only 10 secs.
