素型素色的MD-P20，半弧線條在機身上滑出細緻磨砂與粗曠髮絲紋的獨特雙質感，只是中間大大的MD字樣對比上下方Logo位置，視覺上覺得不平衡。

隨著MD小型、薄型化的同時，小巧隨身的全鋁合金機身，Onkyo強調在上機殼內側採用"樑"結構的一體成形鋁材，簡約的設計提升戶外使用的可靠性。

雖然P20來自於Sharp的OEM，卻罕見地走在Sharp之前導入最新技術：主司MD壓縮信號處理的心臟部，率先採用了最新0.25μm第6世代ATRAC24Bit演算與1Bit D/A轉換，將數位資料以高精度演算解碼，獲得更具延伸感的高音質。

新型的Triple Shuttle背光線控，三個操控旋鈕分別配置音量、基本操作、音質調整等功能，僅需上下滑動即盲操作約7成功能，打造所向無敵的操控體驗，也擁有大容量的40秒防震記憶。

採用了對應續充電的高性能鋰電池，達到11小時的長效續航力，AA x1搭配則拉升到20小時。

Tough X Performance

The minimalist MD-P20 features a clean, solid color design with a half-arc body showcasing a unique dual texture—fine matte finish paired with a rough brushed metal grain. However, the large "MD" lettering in the center creates a visual imbalance compared to the logo's positioning at the bottom.  

As MD players became more compact and thinner, Onkyo emphasized the reliability of outdoor use with a full aluminum alloy body designed for portability. The upper casing's inner side utilizes a unibody aluminum structure with a "beam" reinforcement design, enhancing durability while maintaining a minimalist style.  

Although the P20 originates from Sharp's OEM production, it surprisingly introduced the latest technologies ahead of Sharp itself. At its core, responsible for MD compression signal processing, it adopted the latest 0.25μm 6th gen ATRAC 24-bit calculation with 1-bit D/A conversion, achieving highly precise digital data decoding for superior, extended high-quality audio.  

The new Triple Shuttle backlight controller features three control dials separately dedicated to volume adjustment, basic playback operations, and sound quality settings. With simple up-and-down sliding motions, around 70% of the functions can be controlled blindly, creating an exceptionally intuitive user experience. It also offers a large 40secs anti-shock memory capacity.  

The device incorporates a rechargeable high-performance lithium battery, providing up to 11 hrs of continuous playback. When combined with AAx 1, the playback time extends to an impressive 20hrs.
