It's quite surprising that Goldstar (now part of the LG Group) was an early member of the MD alliance, considering they were a rather closed-off Korean brand during that period. In a world where Japanese manufacturers dominated the global electronics market, choosing a Korean brand was a rarity. However, Goldstar's foray into the MD world was short-lived, with only two MD models released before saying "Sayonara".

The MD-R2 remains an enigma in MD history, as it's unclear whether it was just a prototype in the development stage or if it was ever actually released. Apart from a single small image found on Minidisc.com, there is a complete lack of information regarding this mysterious MD player.

Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on this elusive MD and provide more information?
