機身原型可能來自Sharp MD-MS20，即便是系出同門，Kenwood似乎秉持著"同款是不同師傅"的理念，造型上貫徹了Kenwood特有的高辨識度的歐風形色。

長型的液晶螢幕曲名、REC Level、電量等一目了解，並支援英、數、片假名最大10文字顯示。頗可惜是並未隨著主機一新僅配備了無螢幕的線控操作。

搭載"Sampling・Rate Converter(取樣轉換)"，對應如衛星BS節目與DAT等不同頻率的無損數位音源錄音。

支援Mono REC，以單聲道形式錄音讓74分光碟躍升至200%的148分，在MD空白片尚屬天價的初期，對於如會議、演講等非音樂用途解決了錙銖必較的時間壓力痛點。

對應曲目移動、合併、分割等MD專屬的強大編輯性能。並支援不甚實用的片假名輸入。

對比於Sony僅初代MD限定但Kenwood仍保留了奢華的數位光纖輸 / 出配備~並採用分離式通規耳機線控的貼心設計，讓用家能任意搭配耳機使用。

配備的鋰充電池錄 2.5 / 放3.5小時續航，外接龐大的電池盒(AAx 6)則一口氣提升至錄7 / 放12小時。

只是比起同期的Sony多出近20%的售價，似乎也無法過於期待銷量...

The prototype of the player likely originated from the Sharp MD-MS20. Even though they came from the same family, Kenwood seems to have embraced the philosophy that "same model, different craftsmen" and maintained its distinctive, highly recognizable European-style design.

The elongated LCD screen displays track titles, REC Level, battery status, and more at a glance, supporting a maximum of 10 characters in English, numerals, or Kana (Japanese script). Unfortunately, it did not come with a screen-equipped remote control and was only equipped with a screenless remote control, which is a missed opportunity.

It featured a "Sampling Rate Converter" to accommodate lossless digital audio recording at different frequencies, such as satellite BS broadcasts and DAT.

It supported Mono REC, allowing for mono recording and effectively doubling the capacity of 74min discs to 148min. During the early days when blank MDs were quite expensive, this feature addressed a significant pain point for non-musical use cases like meetings and speeches.

It boasted powerful editing capabilities exclusive to MDs, including track movement, merging, and splitting. It also supported the somewhat impractical input of Kana characters.

In contrast to Sony, which limited digital optical input/output to only the first-generation MDs, Kenwood retained the luxurious feature of digital optical input/output. It also employed a thoughtful design with a detachable remote control for headphones, allowing users to freely choose their headphones.

The built-in lithium rechargeable battery offered REC 2.5/ play 3.5 hrs, while the external battery pack (AAx 6) significantly extended recording time to REC 7 / play 12hr in one go.

However, it was priced nearly 20% higher than Sony's offerings at the same time, so expectations for sales might have been tempered...
