As the EU version of the MD-S70, the formal model is MD-S70. Using slanting elements to create concave decorations, it interprets an uncommon elegance, standing independently from the Japanese version MD-SS70, which is almost identical but deliberately differentiated, seeming somewhat perplexing.

Equipped with a sleek slot-in mechanism for a smooth disc-changing experience, it differs from the usual clamshell mechanism with its simple one-touch horizontal quick entry/exit of discs, and a thoughtful design that automatically plays the disc upon insertion. However, the slot-in design requires more space, making the body somewhat thicker and heavier.

The LCD remote control features a compact screen that contrasts with the overall proportions. It can display English/numerical/katakana characters and adopts a detachable 3.5mm headphone jack, offering complete support for all headphone brands for replacement. The battery boasts an impressive 10hrs long-lasting endurance, leaving users puzzled by the marketing strategy that does not correspond to the essential and power-consuming external battery pack.
