Function First
Sharp, the most important member of the MD after Sony, is quite "unique" in its product planning and marketing. Unlike most brands who start with Recorders as their main focus, Sharp started with players, which were still unpopular at the time.
The MD-S10 has a functional design that resembles a Recorder, with a variety of buttons and a dual-line LCD display for easy confirmation and operation. The dual-cut body design reduces the visual sense of bulkiness.
It comes equipped with an integrated line control operation, which unfortunately, unlike other manufacturers who use a separate design, means that the control unit must be replaced along with the headphones if they wear out.
The biggest drawback is probably its battery life. Despite a long five-hour charge, it only provides a short 90-100 minutes of battery life, and it cannot be connected to an external battery box. additional rechargeable batterie cost an expensive ¥5,000, for most users, the weak battery life limits the usage scenarios to "home use only".
